Les EHPAD sont des lieux pour des résidents âgés de 65 ans et plus, qui proposent plusieurs types de services : restauration, soins, animations et hôtellerie. L’objectif est d’accompagner les personnes fragiles et vulnérables afin de préserver leur autonomie de mouvement et de réflexion.

L’un des défis majeurs des EHPAD est de créer une atmosphère positive, en écartant les pensées moroses qui peuvent envahir les patients, pour qu’ils se sentent à l’aise au sein de l’établissement. Pour cela on peut compter sur l’ensemble du personnel (animateurs & aides-soignants) qui œuvrent au service des résidents. Ils jouent un rôle essentiel dans la contribution au réenchantement de leur quotidien, une notion philosophique qui vise à réintroduire des éléments de sens, de mystère et de connexion spirituelle dans la vie des résidents, même dans un contexte de soins et de vieillesse.

Le réenchantement cherche à redonner une dimension plus riche et significative à leur existence, en reconnaissant l’importance de la spiritualité, de la connexion à la nature et de la recherche de sens, afin de favoriser une expérience plus épanouissante au sein de l’établissement.

Dans les EHPAD, le jeu contribue à réenchanter le quotidien des résidents d’EHPAD, même si l’essentiel des activités ludiques restent limitées aux jeux de société classiques : loto, scrabble, ramy. Cela nous pousse à explorer la manière dont une approche pédagogique ludique peut apporter une transformation significative à la vie en EHPAD. Des animateurs tels que Joël Kruisselbrink à Rotterdam ont par exemple imaginé des activités ludiques sur mesure, adaptées aux besoins spécifiques des patients en fonction de leurs pathologies. Ils parviennent à instaurer un environnement propice au jeu même pour les résidents alités, favorisant ainsi le maintien des liens sociaux et la création de nouvelles connexions.

Au travers de cette enquête nous nous pencherons sur les différentes pathologies couramment observées en EHPAD. Mis en contradiction avec la notion de réenchantement, nous verrons les différentes stratégies mises en œuvre pour encourager la socialisation. Enfin, nous explorerons la dimension ludique à travers l’introduction des jeux au sein des EHPAD.
